Legal action if infected coconut trees are not felled.

The coconut research institute noted that it will resort to legal action against coconut cultivators who do not eradicate deceased trees from their plots.

According to the Director of the Coconut Research Institute Dr. Jayantha Gunathilleke, the infection facing the coconut cultivation in the Hambantota district has been completely curtailed at present.

More over it was noted that around one hundred thousand deceased trees had been felled in the south with over two hundred thousand remaining.
