The legal wing of the United National Party has decided to call in for explanations from parliamentarian Karu Jayasooriya & MP Anil Rathnayeke.
The decision by the UNP's legal wing comes on the heels of opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe's instructions.
An attorney at law representing the legal wing of the UNP noted that explanations will be called in from both politicians concerning their non attendance during the party's May Day rally and alleged party criticism.
Moreover it has been decided to call in for clarifications from North Central Provincial Councillor Anil Rathnayeke, who obtained a court order proscribing the liquefaction of the North Central Provincial Council.
The UNP is said to have received information that Anil Rathnayeke had obtained the enjoining order based on the needs of a Senior government MP at the North Central Provincial Council.
In related developments the UNP has also decided not to offer candidacy for party MP's as well as activist's during upcoming local government elections who are facing disciplinary inquiries due to various allegations.
