Inflation between 6-7 percent
Sunday, 13 May 2012 - 07:59 PM

Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has said that Sri Lanka's central bank is targeting average inflation to be around 6-7 percent and is expecting year end inflation at 7% or below.

Cabraal said year-end point to point inflation 'would be around the same levels'.

In the 12-months to April 2012, inflation accelerated to 6.1% from 5.1% a month earlier.

The central bank has now delivered 39 months of lower inflation, something that the agency has not been able to do since 1977.
