The fundamental rights petition filed by the free media movement challenging the registration & legalisation of internet news websites was taken up before the Supreme Courts today and was subsequently annulled.
The Free Media Movement expressing it is views before court stated that the registration of these websites at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission and the Ministry Of Mass Media impinged upon media freedom.
However upon considering the facts presented by lawyers appearing on behalf of the two state entities the Supreme Court passed decree there by annulling the petition.
