President's Media spokesman Bandula Jayasekera says that President Mahinda Rajapaksa has obtained cabinet approval for setting free DNA leader Sarath Fonseka.
The final discussion with regard to setting Sarath Fonseka free was held day-before-yesterday.
Anoma Fonseka too participated at that discussion headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa held at MP Tiran Alles's home.
Reports say that most probably Sarath Fonseka will be set free on the occasion of National Heroes' Commemoration due for tomorrow.
Currently Sarath Fonseka is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
Meanwhile the petition filed by Sarath Fonseka's lawyers for granting bail for Sarath Fonseka is scheduled to be considered at the Colombo High Court today.
