The Attorney General yesterday moved a motion before the Supreme Court stating that a committee of experts should be appointed for re-preparing the Z-score marking system based on the recent A Level examination results.

It is said that the Supreme Court Registrar has brought the motion to the attention of Chief Justice Dr. Shiraani Bandaranayake.

It is also said in the motion that this motion is being filed since a petition has been filed in court challenging the results of the A Level examination held in 2011.

The court on examining the petition filed by 16 students and the Lankaa Teachers' Union challenging the A level results, gave the opportunity to all parties concerned to make written submissions.

However the verdict on this is scheduled to be given on June 30th.
