The Geological & Mines Survey bureau deems the minor tremor which was experienced in the central highlands of Sri Lanka to be an isolated incident.

A minor tremor was experienced in several areas located within Nuwaraeliya, Badulla & Bandarwela this morning.

These tremeors have been recorded at the Pallekele Geological survey unit.

The Chairman of the GMSB Dr. N.P Wijayananda deduces internal activity within the earth's core to have resulted in this tremor.

Since time past minor tremors of this nature have been reported from Sri lanka.

Due to the evolution of technology the frequency of such incidents being permeated through society has exponentially increased. The Chairman of the GMSB states that such incidents in no way could be considered as an escalation in earthquake risks.
