The leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka who is currently receiving treatment at the Nawaloka Hospital will be transferred to the Welikada Prison this morning.
A spokesperson for the DNA confirmed that since his health conditions have improved he will be discharged from hospital today.
The spokesperson added that he will be taken to the Welikada Prison to await the final court proceedings before he will be released.
Meanwhile, the government says that leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka will be released today.

President’s Media Spokesperson Bandula Jayasekara stated that the documents pertaining to the release were signed by President Mahinda Rajapakse last Friday.

He stated that Sarath Fonseka would be released after the final court proceedings are completed today.
