Our correspondent based at the Nawaloka Hospital in Colombo states that Sarath Fonseka is still within the hospital premises.
The leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka who was formerly receiving treatment at the Nawaloka hospital was discharged this morning.
This was further confirmed by Parliamentarian Tiran Alles.
Subsequently he noted that Sarath Fonseka was due to be moved into the Welikada Prison complex.
Alles stated that once formalities concerning Fonseka’s release are finalized he would be at liberty to go home.
Presidential Spokesperson Bandula Jayasekara speaking yesterday said that the documents pertaining to Fonseka's release were ratified by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday.
Moreover according to our correspondent based at the location crowds are said to have thronged before the Nawaloka Hospital in anticipation of Sarath Fonseka's imminent public appearance following the ratification of his release papers.
Furthermore Security is also said to have been beefed up in the area.
