Sarath Fonseka exit's prison complex upon being granted freedom

The Leader of the Democratic National Alliance Sarath Fonseka who was imprisoned over a period of nearly 3 years exited the Welikada Prison Complex a short while ago.

Fonseka was freed under a presidential pardon which he had bestowed with.

A large crowd had thronged to the location to witness Fonseka's release.

Sarath Fonseka who was discharged from the Nawaloka Hospital this morning was subsequently escorted to the Supreme Court.

Accordingly the Supreme Court granted permission for Sarath Fonseka to withdraw the petitions filed by him against the verdicts of the White Flag Case & the Second Court Martial.
