Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani states that it is his aspiration to see prompt development within Sri Lanka.
The Emir had stated that Qatar is willing to lend it's unstint support & cooperation in this regard.
The comments by the Qatari Emir came during a meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is currently on a state visit to the country.
According to the Presidential Media Unit Emir Sheikh Hamad had noted that
Qatar cannot be content with the level of assistance that it has provided to Sri Lanka so far.
Moreover he had also said that Qatar would closely continue to monitor
Sri Lanka's development activities and would was prepared to lend its unconditional support to sustain such activities.
Meanwhile President Mahinda Rajapaksa toured the Qatari sports academy yesterday.
Spanning across an area of 800 acres, the Qatari sports academy comprises of 15 football fields, a full fledged sports complex & a training facility.
The academy which has been completed in as little as two years is the only academy of its kind which could accommodate all sports events under one roof.
