Chairman of the National Police Commission Senaka Walgampaya notes that at present the Commission has been the recipient of 224 complaints filed against officers attached to the force.
These complaints have been received during the first three months of the establishment of the Commission, which was in accordance
to the provisions of 18th amendment to the constitution.
According to its chairman the most number of complaints have been received
from the districts of Kaluthara & Gampaha.
Moreover steps have been taken to establish 7 provincial bureaus of the police commission which will attend to such complaints. The public will be informed regarding these bureaus via news paper notifications.
