Western provincial councillor Thushara Perera who was arrested on suspicion of the murder of a millionaire businessman in Anamaduwa has been further remanded until the 07th of this month.

The Anamaduwa District Judge Heshantha De Mel ordered for the suspect to be remanded when the case was taken up yesterday.

The murder is said to have taken place on the 10th of December 2010 and two soldiers were arrested previously.

Upon questioning the soldiers revealed that the provincial councillor paid them 1 million rupees for the contract killing.
