British High Commissioner John Rankin was called into the Ministry of External Affairs today by Minister of External Affairs Professor G.L. Peiris.
According to a spokesperson from the Ministry, the British High Commissioner
had been called in regarding a statement which had been made by him.
Recently British High Commissioner John Rankin stated that it was his anticipation to see the withdrawal of army camps from the countries North.
The comments came concurrent to the report published by the British office of foreign affairs.
According to the spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs Subject Minister Professor G.L Peiris had expressed his displeasure against such a statement.
