President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in Thailand on an official visit today as a guest of the Royal Thai Government.
Thailand deputy Prime Minister Yon-yuth Wishai-din was present to welcome the president at the Swarna Bhoomi airport.
President Rajapakse is also scheduled to meet Sri Lankans residing in Thailand.
The President is scheduled to have a royal audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirind-horn tomorrow at the Sra-pathum Palace.
The Princess will host a dinner in honour of the President.
President Rajapaksa will meet Thai Prime Minister Ying-luck Shinawatra on the same day and exchange views on bilateral relations, as well as on regional and multilateral issues.
Thailand believes that there is room for further expansion in trade and investment, particularly as Sri Lanka is focusing its resources for development.
Sri Lanka is therefore emerging as an attractive market and investment destination.
