Presidents Counsil Wijayadasa Rajapaksa states that he has tabled a private members motion in parliament calling for a new law to be formulated which in turn would proscribe clergy being elected to the house

Presidents Council Wijedasa Rajapaksa justifies his course of action by going on to say that the private members motion was tabled in the best interest of preserving Buddhism & other related doctrines.

Meanwhile speaking to our news team Media Spokesperson of the JHU Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe states that Wijedasa Rajapksa's actions are a serious blow to democracy.
