Members of the University Non Academic Staff are primed to launch uninterrupted trade union action commencing from the 06th of June owing to salary discrepancies.

According to the Co-Secretary of the Inter university trade unions federation D M Senaratna, this decision has been reached since repeated pleas to arbitrate discussions concerning the subject matter with the relevant officials had been declined.

Moreover several Teacher Services Unions are also due to resort to trade union actions owing to several impending issues including that of salary discrepancies.

General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Joseph Stalin notes that a final decision in this regard will be arrived at the Teachers Conference which is due to commence on the 13th of June in Colombo.
