Chairman and DMK President M. Karunanidhi has said that the Tamil Eelam Supporters Association conference slated for tomorrow in Villupuram would assist in establishing a separate Eelam for Tamils in Sri Lanka,
Addressing a public meeting in connection with his 88 birthday, Karunanidhi said that Tamils were discriminated against in Sri Lanka and living without self-respect in their country.
The conference will be organized in coordination with the Dravidar Kazhagam and Viduthalai Chiruthaikal Katchi.
Karunanidhi, who is a partner in the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance claimed that the DMK never compromised on its principles and had not remained silent when the government in which it was a part of pursued anti-people policies.
Meanwhile State leaders including Indian Premier Manmohan Singh, Congress leader Sonia Ghandhi, Finance Minister Pranab Mukhargee & seminal Tamil actor Rajini Kanth had wished Karunanidhi for his birthday today via phone.
Moreover it is reported that posters which were composed depicting Karunanidhi's 80th birthday as well as Indian Crickerter Sachin Tendulkar's 100 centuries were displayed across Tamilnadu.
Incidentally Indian Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was also sworn into the countries parliament today.
