The Army states that the military concentration of the North has been reduced by around 35000 personnel over the past five years.

Speaking to our news team Military Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya noted that during the year 2007 the number of military personnel which stood at around 50000 has been stepped down to around 15000 at present.
