General Manager railways B A P Ariyaratna states that all measures have been taken to restore train services on the Kelani Valley track that were disrupted by a dispute between a driver and guard this morning.

Speaking to our news team the general manager stated that he held discussions with the trade unions of both parties and warned them regarding their behaviour.

He added that an internal investigation into this incident will also be carried out.

The driver and guard who were involved in the scuffle at the Maradana station are currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
