The CID informed court yesterday that the Colombo National Museum superintendent's and 13 others' statements relevant to the

burglary of the museum's archaeologically valuable objects have been

recorded.

That was when the relevant case was taken up for hearing before Colombo's Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli.

While the Cinnamon Garden Police had launched investigations into the burglary which occurred on last March 16th, it was assigned to the CID for further probe on IGP's orders.

The CID also submitted to court a progress report on the probe into the burglary.

After considering the submissions the Magistrate ordered the CID to submit to court the progress report on the investigations into the incident on September 12th.
