The Colombo High Courts had decided to hear the case against Democratic National Alliance leader Sarath Fonseka, with regards to harbouring army deserters during the previous presidential election, on the 21st of this month

The charges against Sarath Fonseka and his secretary Senaka Silva include breaking the state allegiance of 10 soldiers and harbouring them and paying them wages.

Sarath Fonseka made his first court appearance today after receiving the presidential pardon when the case was taken up in the presence of Colombo High Court Judge Sunil Rajapakse where the judge issued summons to witnesses to appear before the courts on the 21st of this month.
