Today marks the second day of the strike action launched by the University Non Academic staff.
Owing to this it was reported that academic activities at across universities island wide had been severely hampered.
However views in this regard were expressed by Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayaka, during a media briefing convened in Colombo today.
The Minister noted that the strike was unjustifiable and went onto say that such issues could be solved through dialog.
Minister Dissanayaka also stated that he had received information regarding several instances where employees had been intimidated by trade union leaders.

Meanwhile during yet another media briefing convened today the Minister of higher Education answered a query posed by a journalist with concern to the Inter University Students Federation.
