The Colombo District Court Today issued an enjoining order against the UNP's disciplinary committee today preventing a disciplinary inquiry being heard against UNP Western Provincial councillor Sirikamal Piliyasen De Silva.

A petition was filed by Piyasena De Silva at the Colombo District Courts citing that a disciplinary inquiry was to held against him.

Comments made by Piyasen De Silva regarding opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe & his course of action had led to the formulation of this disciplinary inquiry.

Accordingly Colombo High court judge Dhammika Ganepola issued the enjoining order with effect until the 22nd of this month.

Meanwhile an incident regarding an internal dispute within the UNP was reported from Anamaduwa today.

The dispute arose between UNP MP Palitha Rangebandara & Former Anamaduwa Opposition Leader Nelson Jayaweera.

Jayaweera had lodged a complaint at the Anamaduwa police today stating that MP Rangebandara had assaulted him.

He states that he was assaulted due to being a supporter MP Shantha Bandara.

However Parliamentarian Palitha Rangebandara opposes the views expressed by Nelson Jayaweera.

He states that he was threatened by Jayaweera who had obstructed his vehicle this evening.
