Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe who is currently on tour in China met senior leader of the Communist Party of China Zhou Yongkang in Beijing.

The CPC vowed to enhance party-to-party exchanges with Sri Lanka so as to promote common development.

Zhou also hailed the current China-Sri Lanka ties, saying it has become an example of friendly cooperation between countries with different social systems.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the United National Party MP Tissa Attanayaka states that the disciplinary report on party members who did not attend the Jaffna May Day Rally will be handed over to the working committee.

The General Secretary was speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary also noted that the restored party headquarters Sirikotha will be re-opened during the party anniversary celebrations on the 06th of September.
