The Ministry of Health warns that Dengue has now entered a Pandemic stage.

A Health Ministry official said that currently all government hospitals are overflowing with Dengue patients and that this was a serious threat to other patients.

14,500 cases of Dengue have been reported this year of which 80 have died.

It is significant that out the dead 24 were children between five and 15 years of age.

At the end of April Entomological surveys suggested that Dengue could become a Pandemic in June.

Health Ministry Officials said that although the ministry had informed all the government and private sector institutions and schools to carry out Dengue eradication activities.
