The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress commenced special discussions today concerning campaign activities for the Eastern Provincial council.
The discussion is currently underway in Poththuvil under the patronage of SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem.
According to SLMC General Secretary Hassan Ali, if congress is to contest for the Eastern Provincial Council Elections under the UPFA ticket, the Chief Ministerial portfolio should be awarded to congress.
Alternately if the Chief Ministerial post is denied to congress a fall back plan will be drawn during today's meeting.
Hassan Ali notes that the SLMC's final stance regarding canvassing the East will be officially declared tomorrow.
