Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs Karunathilaka Amunugama states that the ministry will respond to the request made by the United Nations Human Rights Council to visit Sri Lanka next week.

The UNHRC has requested for one representative to be allowed to visit Sri Lanka.

The Secretary also stated that the ministry is prepared to provide all necessary information pertaining to rehabilitation and reconstruction work carried out in Sri Lanka during the post-conflict period, in the event the ministry decides to grant permission for a UN representative to visit the island.
