The Nawa Sama Samaja Party requests the government to intercede on behalf of the Katuwana attack which was launched on the JVP.
Leader of the NSSP Wickramabahu Karunarathna speaking to our news team expressed these views.
Meanwhile the JVP had also convened a media briefing on this behalf in Colombo.
Chief Secretary of the Party Tilvin Silva expressed these views therein.
Minister of Rehabilitation & Prison Reforms Chandrasiri Gajadheera expressing his views stated that he deplores the occurrence.
However against such a backdrop Acting Minister of Ports & Highways Rohitha Abeygunawardhana attributes the attack to an internal conflict within the JVP.
Participating in the SLFP destructuralization programme in Rathnapura the Minister expressed these views.
When inquired from police media spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana in this regard he noted 04 special police teams have been appointed to probe investigations into the incident.
According to him statements have been obtained from 28 individuals so far.
