Minister of Health Maithreepala Sirisena is to call upon all officials attached to the dengue prevention programme tomorrow, to inquire into the reasons behind the rapid spread of the virus.
Dengue has been at a steep incline in several parts of the island since of recent.
According to a spokesperson from the Ministry of health, tomorrow's discussion will tend to focus on any apparent shortcomings in the dengue prevention programme at present.
Moreover methods to curtail the emerging threat will also be discussed during tomorrows meeting during which 12 departmental officials are also expected to be present.
A progress report concerning the dengue prevention programme will also be submitted for the perusal of the subject minister.
According to the Ministry of health decisions drawn at this meting will be expediently actuated in joint collaboration with all local government bodies.
