A skeleton of a pre-historic male believed to be that of the “Balangoda Man” was found from the Fa-Hien cave on Sunday.

Investigations have revealed that the skeleton is about 12,000 years old.

The Department of Archaeology has been conducting excavations inside the Fa-Hien cave for the last couple of months.

The Department noted that they have found skeletal remains belonging to several pre-historic eras inside the cave.

We spoke to Archaeologist Pura Vidya Chakrawarthi Ven.Ellawala Medhananda Thero regarding these findings.
