Blood sample testing of about 130 other detainees of the Colombo New Magazine prison took place yesterday.
Prisons Superintendent Emil Ranjan Lamahevage told our news team that blood sample testing of another 100 detainees was carried out last Wednesday as well.
Test results revealed that no detainee tested positive for HIV/AIDS.
The testing of blood samples of these detainees had been done according to an order issued by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.
However the Prisons Superintendent further said that within the prison there was no environmental conducive for contracting AIDS.
