
A stock of goods consisting of shoes, perfume, cardamoms and lighters worth nearly 15 million rupees has been confiscated by the customs department.
The goods were concealed within a stock of steel imported for the construction of a poultry farm.
Incidentally the farm in dispute is said to be registered under the Board of Investment.
Information further revealed that 22 containers containing similar stashed goods had arrived on previous occasions.
Subsequent investigations had led to the discovery of the container in dispute.
A director of the farm, a driver, his assistant and another individual has been arrested in connection to the incident by authorities.
