Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana states that no plans have been drawn to acquire the lands owned by the agricultural school in Kundasale to construct an airport.
Presidential advisor on agriculture Hemakumara Nanayakkara stepped down from his post yesterday in a sign of defiance against a supposed revelation concerning the construction of an airport at the premises of the Kundasale Agriculture College.
Speaking to our news team Hemakumara Nanayakkara noted that the letter of notice in this regard had been sent to the President and the Presidential Secretariat.
He also noted that this project was being implemented under the awareness of the subject minister.

When we spoke to Chief Minister of the Central Province Sarath Ekanayake in this regard, he noted that a special discussion will be held under the aegis of President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the 28th of this month.
