Over 150 Sri Lankan refugees have gone missing from camps in Tamil Nadu during the last two weeks.
Moreover 151 Sri Lankan's were arrested adjacent to Kollam in Kerala around 3 weeks back, who had attempted to migrate abroad via sea.
It is believed that these refugees have gone to Kerala on route to other countries.
Australia has also voiced concerns that asylum seekers from Sri Lanka first arrive in Tamil Nadu and move to other countries from there.
An Australian news papers had dubbed the arrival of migrants as the
'epoch of a new wave of illegal aliens'.
It has also been reported that subsequent to the tightening of Tamil Nadu's maritime borders, Sri Lankan migrants have resorted to use Kerala as their launching point for sea travel.
However according to the Navy direct migration from Sri Lanka to Australia via sea has completely come to a standstill.
