Sri Lanka 472 all out with Kumar Sangakkara remaining unbeaten on 199

On the 2nd day of the 1st test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Galle, Sri Lanka reached a total of 472 all out with Kumar Sangakkara remaining unbeaten on 199.

 

For Pakistan Saeed Ajmal was the pick of the bowlers taking 5 wickets for 146 runs while skipper Mohammad Hafeez chipped in with 3 wickets at the cost of 55 runs.

 

This left Pakistan with the task of negotiating 24 overs before end of days play, during which they struggled to reach 48 runs for the loss of 5 wickets with Younis Khan unbeaten on 15 runs and debutant Mohammad Ayub not out on 1 run.

 

Suraj Randeev was the pick of the of the bowlers for Sri Lanka picking up 2 quick wickets for 5 runs and Nuwan Kulasekara chipping in with 2 wickets for 15 runs early in the Pakistan innings and Rangana Herath grabbing the other wicket to fall.
