The police have informed that the law regarding the maximum number of passengers in a three-wheeler will be strictly implemented from today.
Five people were killed in an accident involving a three-wheeler and private bus in Kurunegala yesterday.
Investigations into the accident have revealed that the three-wheeler was the cause of the accident.
Although the maximum passenger law was introduced previously it took a step back as several objections were levelled against it.
However, police media spokesperson SP Ajith Rohana stated that the law will be strictly implemented to ensure the safety of passengers.
