Vice Chancellors of the universities have condemned the trade union action due to be taken by university lecturers and have called it a hindrance to free education in the country.
A special discussion for vice chancellors and directors of the universities was held recently to discuss this issue.
In a statement released after this meeting the vice chancellors stated that 6 key issues were discussed.
Among these was the importance of finding solutions for the lecturer’s issues through dialogue.
The vice chancellors have also requested the lecturers to reconsider their trade union action in order to successfully carry out studies at state universities.
