The Monthly General Assembly of the Hatton-Dikoya Municipal Council was adjourned today due to tense situation which arose in the house.
Accordingly, the general assembly was postponed until the 12th of July.
The tense situation in the house arose subsequent to a revelation that Chairman of the Hatton-Dikoya Municipal council Agalamuththu Nandakumar had resigned from the Lanka Workers Congress and had aligned himself with the SLFP.
During the ensuing tumult Workers congress Councillors who represent the government had also expressed their dissent against the Chairman’s course of action.
However, subsequent to the adjournment of the house Chairman of the Hatton-Dikoya Municipal Council expressed these views to the media.
Meanwhile, H.I.M.Muhajirin a councillor representing the LWC held the Chairman of the Hatton-Dikoya Municipal council culpable on his course of action in the following manner.
