UNP General Secretary MP Thissa Attanayaka states that a special meeting of the party Working Committee will take place on the 5th of July.
He further stated that the objective of this meeting will be to discuss the course of action to take during the up coming provincial council elections.
MP Tissa Attanayaka also stated that those who wish to contest from the UNP for the up coming provincial council elections can put forth their applications at this meeting and that the applications can be handed over at the party headquarters on the 5th of July
A special workshop for the UNP communications secretaries is scheduled for today at the party headquarters and will be conducted by university lecturers.
Meanwhile the Frontline Socialist Party has still not decided whether to contest for the elections of the 3 dissolved provincial councils.
Speaking to our news team the FSP’s Propoganda Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda stated that the party central committee will convene on the 30th of June and will arrive at a final decision.
