Israeli PM urges Egypt President Morsi to uphold peace treaty

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sent a letter to Egypt's newly elected President Mohamed Morsi, urging him to uphold a peace treaty between the two countries.

The letter, first reported by Israeli daily Haaretz today, "stressed Israel's desire to continue cooperation and to strengthen the peace.

Netanyahu "emphasised that honouring the agreement is in the interest of both countries, saying the Israeli premier had also wished Morsi good luck in his new role.
