A place in the UNP list for relatives of Ministers.
Thursday, 05 July 2012 - 08:54 AM

A special UNP working committee meeting is scheduled to be held at the party headquarters today.

UNP Chairman MP Gamini Jayawickrama Perera said that this meeting would be held to discuss the upcoming Provincial Council elections.

Meanwhile the UNP's attention has been drawn on granting candidacy at the Provincial Council election for relatives of UPFA MPs and ministers not given candidacy under the UPFA.

With the SLFP deciding at its Central Working Committee not to grant candidacy to children of UPFA MPs and Ministers, the UNP's attention has thus been drawn on the subject.

However a senior UNP spokesman told our news team that this would be
discussed at the working committee meeting held today.
