The employees of the Ceylon Electricity Board are presently engaged in an island wide continuous strike.

This strike has was initiated in response to the termination of employment of 120 employees of the CEB following the token strike against thier salary discrepancies.

Speaking to our news team the chairman of the Technical Trade Union Joint Front J R P Senarathna made the following statement.

Our news team also spoke to the chairman of the CEB Professor Wimaladharma Abeywickrama and inquired from the chairman as to why the employment of contract employees was terminated.
