6 students who were boarded at the hostel of the St. Gabriel’s College in Hatton have abandoned its premises this morning.
Two of the students who had runaway had been studying in grade 13 while the other two had been grade 11 students.
Two students who had also been educated in grades 9 and 7 are also reported to have runway this morning bringing the total number of runaways to 6.
When inquired by the warden of the St. Gabriel's Girl School Sister Matilda she noted that information had come to light that the students had travelled towards Kandy via train.
The warden of the St. Gabriel's Girl School also noted that one of the girls who had run away had contacted her via phone.
When inquired from the Ginigathhena police it noted that investigations in this regard had already commenced.
Information revealed regarding boarding-school runaway students
Information has surfaced regarding the 6 students ,who ranaway from the boarding school in St.Gabriel's college in hatton.
According to the police media unit one of the six students is reported to be in her house in Ampara while the other 5 are residing with a friend in the Minneriya area.
The information was revealed following a phone call made by the children to their parents.
Earlier it was reported the children were en route to kandy via train.
