PHI engaged in Dengue prevention killed - PHI's engage in special discussion

A Public Health Inspector has succumbed to his injuries upon being assaulted in the Thabala-gamuwa- Jayanthipura area in Kantale today.

 

The Police Media Unit confirmed that the PHI was assaulted while he was engaged on an inspection activity for dengue breeding sites at a house.

 

The Police Media Unit revealed further that the PHI was assaulted with a pestle by the landlord of the house.

 

The decease has been identified as a 52 year old Muslim National of the Kinniya

Region '2' area.

 

Police Media Unit reports further revealed that the landlord was arrested by the Police.

 

Moreover, due to this situation several PHI officers are taking steps to arrive at a decision regarding the dengue inspection activities.

 

Expressing views in this concern, the Chairman of the Public Health Inspectors Association Upul Rohana stated that a special meeting in this regard will be held this evening.
