Tuesday, 10 July 2012 - 08:26 AM

Public Health Inspectors have decided to launch a token strike Island-wide today.

This is in protest against the killing at Thambalagamuwa yesterday of a PHI engaged in Dengue Eradication duties.

Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors' Union chairman Upul Rohana said that in future, authorities should ensure that PHIs are deployed in pairs when inspecting houses.

The SLFP Central working committee is scheduled to meet this afternoon at Temple Trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
