Navy intercepts 82 illegal migrants bound for Australia

82 persons on board the two multi-day fishing trawlers which were seized by the navy this morning have been escorted to the Trincomalee harbour.

According to Naval Media Spokesperson Commander Kosala Warnakulasooriya among the group placed under arrest are said to be 78 males, 02 females & two children.

All of those on board are believed to be Sri Lankan nations who had departed from Valachchenei.
