By now several opinions have come up within the Muslim Congress with regard to contesting the Eastern Provincial Council.
Yesterday the Party Supreme Council met with party leader Rauf Hakeem
in the chair.
At this meeting the opinion of a group has been that the Muslim Congress should contest the provincial council election alone.
Similarly some party members had pointed out the need to contest the provincial council election this time either coalition with the Government or the TNA.
However, reports say that at the discussion held yesterday attention was drawn on obtaining an assurance from the Government, if the Muslim Congress contest at the election in coalition with the Government.
Party Leader Rauf Hakemm is also scheduled to hold discussion with President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the near future with regard to this matter.
However another meeting of the party Supreme Council will be held next Friday.
