The Health Ministry states that the most number of Malaria cases reported so far this year have been from those returning to the island from foreign trips.

The Additional Secretary of the Ministry Dr.Palitha Maheepala stated that 64 Malaria cases have been reported so far this year.

He added that only 20 cases of this were reported from resident Sri Lankans.
