Gas prices down by 150 rupees; Customs Duty on essential goods reduced

Prices of both varieties of domestic gas cylinders will be reduced by 150 rupees by midnight today.

Accordingly, the price of a 12.5kg Laugfs and Litro Gas cylinder has been reduced.

Thereby, the new price of a domestic gas cylinder will be 2,280 rupees.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance has also decided to reduce import duty on potatoes, onions and several other essential goods with effect from midnight today.

These items will include potatoes, onions, dried fish, salmon, fish and sprats.

Accordingly the import tax imposed on a kilogramme of potatoes has been reduced by 20 rupees, while the import tax imposed on a kilogramme of fish has been reduced by 25 rupees and the import tax on a kilogramme of Bombay onions has been reduced by 10 rupees.
